FAQ
How long does a typical portrait session take?
Most sessions will take less than 60 minutes - in some cases I'll suggest we meet at various times of the day to capture different moments or events. Multiple visits are included in the shooting fee.
How long will it take for us to receive our images?
Unless otherwise stated you'll receive your images within 14 working days of completing the photo shoot.
In every case I will send you selected low resolution images to use for social media on the day after the photo shoot.
What will we actually receive?
This will depend on which portrait package you have booked but in all cases you will receive;
- a set of beautiful,high resolution fully edited images on USB or downloadable from our secure client area.
- 2 free 5 x 7" prints
- support and guidance in deciding on printing and framing options that best suit your home - we'll then have these orders processed for you if needed.
- ongoing support as a valued client including priority booking for future events and family milestones.
Why do you give prints to every client?
I think it's really important to have prints, albums and photobooks as well as digital files. Most of us store hundreds of photos on our phones and many more on hard drives but rarely enjoy them to the fullest extent.
Nothing can compare to sitting with family and friends and flicking through a set of beautifully shot photos and having hard copy prints means that whatever technology exits in the future, you'll always be able to see, touch and share these memories with your children and grandchildren.
How do you think portraits are best displayed?
That's really up to you but I'll happily guide you to consider specific printing and framing options that will suit your home.
One of the most popular options for portrait work is to create very large, striking prints on metal (aluminium) or traditional mounts and frames.
These prints provide a stunning feature for any room and will literally stop people in their tracks every time they enter that space.
Do you photograph weddings?
Yes, I begn photographing weddings in September 2016 and have limited booking opportunities for 2018. Bookings can be made now via the contact page or email.
What is a family journal/'day in the life' session?
A family journal is a candid photo series that tells the story of your family over a day or series of days.
I will spend the day with you in a low key unobtrusive way and may photograph an outing, fun mealtimes, family rituals and more. The results are amazing!

What should we wear for a portrait shoot?
Ideally it's best to wear solid colours without logos but I'll always leave this up to you - in many cases children in particular will have a favourite outfit and it's much more important to capture these memories (my son didn't take his Spiderman suit off for 2 years so I know how this works....)
My child has a disability and I'm not sure how they will cope with a photo shoot?
I'm a trained teacher with extensive experience in working with children with a range of disabilities including Autism Spectrum Disorder - I'd welcome the opportunity to photograph your family and will happily tailor the session to ensure everyone is calm and happy.
